I create pieces that are meant to add to the narrative, to become something meaningful to someone else. I make pieces that are made for living. I consider myself both a ceramicist and a designer.
Both mediums combine function and aesthetics to create a final piece with the goal of making a deeper connection or impact on another person.
When it comes to the works themselves, I am deeply inspired by the concepts and feelings of the home. The objects and art that fill a home are meaningful and carefully curated by those who live there.
It isn’t really the structure that makes a home, it’s the intent. To me, nature plays a large role in this concept. There is something beautiful and grounding about the forest with such a variety of complex creations thriving together, each counting on another’s unique purpose from the tallest tree to the smallest mushroom.
