If I had one word for my creative process it would be “structured.” A lot of my projects start with the same “steps to create,” which are finding what words, phrases, and feelings describe the thing I am working toward.
This involves figuring out exactly what feeling I am looking to convey in my work, which always depends on the work I am doing. I tend to take a lot of written notes while creating, and try to come up with questions to ask myself and answer with words or sketches.
Because of this, my process notebook has a bit of a chaotic look to it. That may seem to go against the word “structured,” but everything in my process is ultimately about moving from point A to point B—there is just a lot to unpack on the way.
